Pesticide linked to cancer found in nearly EVERY common food in U.S.

Emails obtained through a freedom of information request show that glyphosate, a widely used weed killer that’s been linked to cancer, has been found in nearly every common food sold and consumed in the United States.

COMMENT

The main ingredient in Monsanto’s ‘Roundup’ weed killer, glyphosate is extremely toxic to the cells of the body. As such, the finding that this chemical is so widely present in the American food supply will only further harden public opposition to Monsanto and everything it stands for.

While the planned sale of Monsanto increasingly looks like going ahead, having already been approved by regulators in Europe and the United States, we can confidently predict that its purchaser, the chemical company Bayer, will eventually find itself on the receiving end of some of the very same concerted global opposition that was previously directed towards Monsanto itself. With Bayer already infamous for having been a leading member of the notorious IG Farben Cartel, the widespread labeling of the corporate tie-up with Monsanto as “a marriage made in hell” could likely be but a first taste of what Bayer’s executives should expect to come.
