Nutritional Supplement Safety Again Confirmed By America’s Largest Database

NEWS

The 35th annual report from the American Association of Poison Control Centers shows zero deaths from vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, niacin (vitamin B3), pyridoxine (vitamin B6), or any other B vitamin. Nor either were there any deaths from multivitamin supplements.

COMMENT

Time and again, the mass media presents alarming articles about the supposed dangers of vitamin supplements. Invariably, such articles are either without any merit or they exaggerate and misinterpret the studies referred to. On the other hand, numerous reports on how an insufficient intake of vitamins contributes to many health problems, as well as the impressive health benefits resulting from regular dietary micronutrient supplementation, are much less publicized and often completely ignored.

This is no accident, of course. Ultimately, the reality that the mass media is not sharing with us is that vitamins are dangerous only to the pharmaceutical industry. Pharma companies see vitamins as undermining their trillion-dollar-a-year ‘business with disease’ by reducing mankind’s need for patented chemical drugs.
