Prescription Drug Prices Are Out Of Control

NEWS

In an all-too-rare example of political consensus, U.S. congressional lawmakers on both sides of the aisle appear to agree — at least in principle — that something needs to be done about out-of-control prescription drug prices.

COMMENT

The fact that drug prices are out-of-control reminds us that the pharmaceutical industry is an investment industry driven by the profits of its shareholders. Improving human health is not its driving force.

But simply lowering drug prices will not bring the pharmaceutical ‘business with disease’ to an end. The fact is, drugs don’t address the primary causes of disease. Instead, as Dr. Rath’s Cellular Medicine research has shown, the primary cause of chronic diseases, including various forms of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and others, is a chronic deficiency of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other specific nutrients. The Cellular Medicine approach therefore defines an optimum daily intake of specific micronutrients as a basic preventative measure for maintaining health, and the effective, safe control of many pathological conditions.

To check out our Foundation’s vision of what a truly preventive system of healthcare should look like in the 21st Century, take a look at Dr. Rath’s Barletta Declaration. If you like what you see, we invite you to contact us and discuss how we can work together to implement this vision where you live.
