Based on self-reported intake by users of an app, this study found a “modest” lowering of the risk of testing positive among women who regularly took multivitamins, omega-3, probiotics, or vitamin D supplements. The study has several weaknesses, however, including the fact that the researchers didn’t collect any information on dosages. Had synergistic combinations of immune-enhancing micronutrients been examined, the results would undoubtedly have been far more impressive. Research carried out by scientists at the Dr. Rath Research Institute has shown that taking advantage of micronutrient synergy maximizes the biological impact of supplements.
