With almost a year having passed since the UK became the first country to approve Pfizer’s controversial gene-based COVID-19 vaccine, it speaks volumes that the full data used to obtain so-called ‘emergency use authorization’ for it around the world is still not being released.

Filed on 16 September, the lawsuit brought against the FDA points out that while the Pfizer vaccine was recently given full regulatory approval in the United States, federal law requires that all safety and effectiveness data and information are immediately made available after a license is issued. Despite this legal requirement, the FDA continues to resist releasing such data. Clearly, therefore, the longer it continues to do so, the more inevitable will be the public’s conclusion that the regulatory agency apparently has something to hide.
