Analyzing the links between pesticides and kidney dysfunction in 41,847 people, this study revealed that people exposed to higher amounts of malathion had a 25 percent increased risk of dysfunction. Noting that kidney dysfunction with no known cause is rising in low-to-middle income countries such as India and Sri Lanka, the researchers say their findings suggest we should limit our exposure to pesticides, even in small doses.
For people already afflicted with kidney dysfunction, in addition to limiting their exposure to pesticides, there are also other things they can do.
