Lockdowns Only Reduced COVID Deaths By 0.2 Per Cent, Johns Hopkins Study Finds

When enforcing draconian national lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic, governments claimed they were ‘following the science’ and that there was no alternative. As this new study shows, however, school and border closures, confining people to their homes, and limiting public gatherings had virtually no effect in reducing the number of deaths from the virus. The researchers state outright that they found “no evidence” such measures had any noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality.

Based on their analysis, which looked at 34 pre-existing studies, the researchers recommend that, given the “devastating effects” of lockdowns, they should be “rejected out of hand as a pandemic policy instrument.” Revealingly, border closures were found to be even less effective in saving lives than the lockdowns themselves, with mortality rates being reduced by just 0.1 percent.
