The seventh most common cancer in women worldwide, it is estimated that in 2018 almost 300,000 women were diagnosed with ovarian cancer and around 185,000 died from it. Women over the age of 60, those who are obese and those who have taken hormone treatments for fertility or menopause are at a higher risk of developing this cancer.

More than 70 percent of ovarian cancers have already spread by the time they are diagnosed. This decreases the chances of recovery as standard treatment methods such as surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy are effectively unable to cure cancers that have already spread to other organs.

Promisingly, therefore, studies carried out by scientists working at the Dr. Rath Research Institute have demonstrated that a combination of specific micronutrients is effective in reducing the growth of ovarian cancer cells, decreasing their ability to spread, and inducing cancer cell death (apoptosis). The combination includes vitamin C, the amino acids lysine and proline, and the green tea extract epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG).
