This new study comes amid growing concern over the health risks of COVID-19 vaccines. The mRNA forms of the injections are particularly dangerous, with known side effects including very low platelet counts (thrombocytopenia); high rates of severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis); inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis); blood clots (thrombosis); severe liver damage; and even death. Analysis by British Medical Journal senior editor Peter Doshi and colleagues shows that these vaccines are statistically more likely to cause serious adverse events than they are to prevent hospitalization.
Significantly, therefore, a study authored by researchers from the Netherlands recently analyzed data from 47 countries and found that over three million excess deaths have occurred in the Western World since 2020. Published in the BMJ Public Health journal, the paper describes this as “unprecedented” and, expressing serious concerns, urges governments to thoroughly investigate the underlying causes – including potential vaccine harms.
A term that refers to the number of deaths from all causes over and above what would normally be expected to occur during a given period, ‘excess death’ statistics have been closely monitored since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The BMJ Public Health study reveals that in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, there were over one million excess deaths in 2020, at the height of the pandemic. A total of more than 1.2 million subsequently occurred in 2021, followed by over 800,000 in 2022. Given these numbers, and the time period they relate to, the experimental vaccines used to counter COVID-19 have been proposed as a possible cause.
