With a wealth of scientific evidence now demonstrating the importance of omega-3 fatty acids in contributing to healthy aging, this latest study builds on previous research which found that older adults with the highest levels of these nutrients were more likely to be living without either chronic diseases or mental or physical deterioration.

Over the past couple of decades, a succession of studies has established that omega-3 fatty acids are helpful in preventing and controlling cardiovascular disease, cancer, neurological disorders, and other conditions. Recent research has added to this knowledge by confirming they can lower blood pressure, protect against heart failure, reduce the risk of heart attacks and cardiovascular disease events, help reduce inflammation in chronic kidney disease and, when combined with B vitamins, stop the development of Alzheimer’s disease.

Additional studies similarly show that omega-3 fatty acids can help treat major depression; lower the risk of eye disease; protect hearing ability, reduce the risk of premature birth, slow the growth of prostate cancer, reduce aggressive behavior in children, and lower the risk of death.

For optimum health benefits, we recommend taking omega-3 fatty acids with a synergistically designed combination of nutrients.
