It's concerning enough that more than 40 percent of American adults meet the criteria for a clinical insufficiency in vitamin D (and a whopping 29 percent are straight-up deficient in the essential vitamin). But, disturbingly, a 2017 review shows that up to 96 percent of people diagnosed with breast cancer are also deficient in vitamin D.
