Moderna, the controversial manufacturer of a multibillion-dollar mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, is reported here to be operating a disinformation department aimed at controlling public discourse and influencing government vaccine policies. Said to be monitoring a wide range of outlets including social media platforms, gaming communities, and news websites, the company is apparently being aided in these activities by a drug industry-funded NGO known as Public Good Projects. The operation reportedly works to identify and counter vaccine hesitancy by addressing and shutting down what it classifies as “misinformation.”
According to the article, Moderna works with former law enforcement officials and collaborates with social media platforms to influence content decisions. Actions highlighted in the report include efforts to combat prominent criticism of COVID-19 vaccines from figures such as Elon Musk and tennis player Novak Djokovic. Revealingly, Moderna is said to be employing artificial intelligence to monitor vaccine-related conversations across 150 million websites in nearly 200 countries.
However, it isn’t just Moderna that has been monitoring criticism of COVID-19-related issues. A recent report in the UK’s Daily Mail newspaper describes how a shadowy army unit spied on British critics of lockdown policies. Documents obtained by civil liberties group Big Brother Watch reveal that UK government cells involved in these activities included the so-called 77th Brigade, an arm of the country’s Ministry of Defense which supposedly deploys ‘non-lethal engagement and legitimate non-military levers as a means to adapt behaviors of adversaries.’ Many observers believe that other governments have been conducting similar operations against their citizens.
