Monkeypox: WHO Says Outbreak Is ‘Deeply Concerning’ But Not A ‘Public Health Emergency Of International Concern’

Since 1 January 2022 and as of 22 June 2022, the WHO says that 3,413 laboratory confirmed cases of monkeypox and one death have been reported in a total of 50 countries. The majority of these laboratory confirmed cases have been reported in Europe.

While various theories have been put forward to explain the unexpectedly rapid spread of the international outbreak and its accelerated evolution, many people have pointed to the apparent coincidence that it has occurred just as a new generation of smallpox vaccines is in preparation. Because the monkeypox virus is closely related to the virus that causes smallpox, these vaccines are being promoted as a possible means of controlling the outbreak. Notably, therefore, at least one of them utilizes experimental DNA technology. The use of genetic vaccine technologies has been widespread during the COVID-19 pandemic and is associated with serious side effects.

Predictably, therefore, with the United States and the United Kingdom both now reported to be stockpiling smallpox vaccines, it would appear the pharma industry is already gearing up to profit from the outbreak. Déjà vu, anybody?
